Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced ER environment
• Stabilize and manage acute and emergent conditions with clinical confidence
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform essential procedures safely
• Coordinate care with physicians, techs, and other team members to ensure smooth patient flow
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress clearly and timely
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Respond effectively to codes and emergency situations, maintaining calm under pressure

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California (or compact license where applicable)
• Previous Emergency Room/acute care nursing experience preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS preferred or obtained shortly after hire
• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and crisis management skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity settings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but all qualified RN candidates will be considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid assessment techniques
• Cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and acute cardiac care basics
• IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Trauma assessment and bleeding control
• Electronic health record (EHR) documentation proficiency
• Infection control practices and patient safety principles
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain composed during high-stress events
