Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced ER environment
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients of all ages
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and perform necessary interventions
- Document patient care clearly and promptly in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care
- Contribute to a culture of safety by following protocols and reporting concerns
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for California (or compact RN where applicable)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- Previous Emergency Room experience preferred (per-diem/acute care exposure a plus)
- Comfortable with fast-paced, high-acuity situations and urgent decision-making
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well on interdisciplinary teams
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and emergency assessment skills
- Familiarity with common ER procedures and emergency medications
- Proficient with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
- Ability to prioritize multiple critical patients and tasks
- Strong critical thinking, situational awareness, and patient advocacy
