Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to emergency patients
- Rapidly assess and triage incoming patients to prioritize care
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to implement care plans
- Monitor patient status, interpret vital signs and telemetry, and escalate concerns promptly
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, and follow-up care
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of California or compact state as applicable
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Previous Emergency Room experience preferred but motivated new ER nurses encouraged to apply
- Ability to work per diem shifts and respond to shift needs with a professional, team-first mindset
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program, ADN or BSN
- BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong triage and rapid assessment skills in a fast-paced ER environment
- IV insertion, medication administration, and wound care competency
- Familiarity with emergency procedures and resuscitation protocols
- Clear, calm communication with patients, families, and the care team
- Basic electronic medical record (EMR) navigation and documentation skills
