Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms to detect changes in cardiac status
• Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care for adult telemetry patients
• Perform assessments, document findings, and communicate changes to the care team promptly
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely according to orders and protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary staff to develop and execute care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate electronic charting and ensure handoffs are thorough and professional

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license valid in California
• BLS required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior telemetry nursing experience — comfortable with continuous cardiac monitoring
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and teamwork mindset
• Available for per-diem assignments and able to respond to staffing needs

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry rhythm recognition and cardiac monitoring best practices
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Patient assessment, triage, and escalation processes
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Critical thinking, situational awareness, and patient safety focus
• Professional bedside manner and patient/family education techniques
