Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency care with calm, confident decision-making
• Perform rapid triage and prioritize care for patients with urgent and life-threatening conditions
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear, supportive communication

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California (or compact RN with California authorization where applicable)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable
• Prior emergency room experience preferred; comfort with high-acuity, fast-paced settings
• Valid ID and ability to complete facility onboarding and health requirements
• Comfort working per-diem/short-term assignments and adapting quickly to new teams
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in emergency assessment, triage, and rapid clinical decision-making
• Proficient with IV starts, medication administration, and acute nursing interventions
• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and basic ECG interpretation
• Ability to document accurately in electronic health records and follow protocols
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient-family education abilities
• Calm under pressure with strong prioritization and time management skills
