Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility while preserving dignity
- Monitor residents' condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Accurately document care, observations, and any changes in resident status
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Prior experience caring for older adults is a plus
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
- Reliable, compassionate, and great communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of GNA training program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
- Basic knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Ability to take and record basic vital signs and observations
- Strong documentation and time-management skills
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication and empathy
- Awareness of dignity-centered, person-first care practices
