Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality routine radiology exams across inpatient and outpatient settings to support accurate diagnoses
- Operate portable x-ray units and C-arm equipment confidently during surgical and bedside procedures
- Conduct general fluoroscopy exams and assist with contrast studies, ensuring patient safety and optimal imaging
- Position patients precisely and apply radiation safety principles to protect patients and staff
- Prepare and/or administer contrast media per protocol and monitor patients during procedures
- Manage digital images and documentation via PACS and the facility charting system to maintain clear clinical records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in the OR, ED, ICU and outpatient areas to ensure seamless patient care
- Maintain equipment readiness, infection control practices, and a clean, organized work environment
Qualifications
- ARRT (R) registration preferred (listed as preferred in requisition)
- BLS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of radiography experience
- Comfortable performing portables, C-arm procedures, surgical radiology cases and general fluoroscopy
- Experience in community hospital or acute care settings is a plus
- Ability to work the M-F 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM block schedule and adapt to a fast-paced imaging environment
- Familiarity with PACS and digital image management
Knowledge & Skills
- Radiography fundamentals and patient positioning across chest, abdomen, spine, extremities and head imaging
- Portable imaging and mobile/surgical C-arm procedures
- Fluoroscopy techniques including upper GI, barium swallow, contrast enema and other GI studies
- Competence with PACS image systems and basic Epic charting workflows
- Preparation and administration of contrast media with patient monitoring
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with surgeons, nurses and other care team members
- Radiation safety and adherence to infection control practices
