Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Support safe mobility and transfers to help residents maintain independence
- Assist with meals and feeding while promoting dignity and comfort
- Observe and report changes in residents condition to licensed nursing staff promptly
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident interactions
- Follow infection control, safety, and sanitation policies to protect residents and coworkers
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through empathetic communication
Qualifications
- GNA certification or equivalent experience in geriatric nursing assistance
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable performing hands-on resident care and physical tasks
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing aide skills and knowledge of ADLs
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Strong observation and reporting abilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills with residents and staff
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to elder care
