Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents and patients
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Accurately document care, vital signs, and observations in the chart
• Support safe transfers and fall prevention practices to maintain resident safety
• Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans
• Help create a warm, dignified environment that promotes independence and quality of life

Qualifications

• Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent in the hiring state
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable working overnight hours and performing physical caregiving tasks
• Background check and required health screenings/immunizations as per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric setting preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dementia-friendly approaches
• Skilled in ADLs support, safe resident transfers, and mobility assistance
• Familiarity with infection control and basic clinical observations
• Accurate charting and clear communication with interdisciplinary teams
• Compassionate bedside manner and patience for older adult care
