Roles & Responsibilities

• Act as a first point of contact for referrals and patients, ensuring clear communication and a welcoming experience
• Conduct thorough initial examinations and patient assessments, documenting clinical findings accurately
• Attend patient consultations and provide meaningful education and support to patients and families
• Perform daily rounds and proactively communicate patient progress to the interventional radiologist and care team
• Recommend evidence-based care plans to the referring physician and multi-disciplinary team under physician guidance
• Assist with and monitor patients during procedures such as cardiac catheterization, peripheral and cerebral angiograms, EP ablations, and TEE/Cardioversion
• Provide moderate sedation care safely and according to protocol, monitoring vitals and recovery progress
• Maintain meticulous documentation in Cerner EMR and uphold infection control and safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Illinois nursing license (copy of agency IL nursing license required in submission)
• Minimum 2 years of current experience in cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology (required)
• Experience providing moderate sedation (required)
• BLS (AHA) — active
• ACLS (AHA) — active
• COVID-19 and Influenza vaccination required (declinations will not be approved) — please include vaccination status in your profile
• Prior travel experience (highly preferred)
• Prior Cerner EMR experience (highly preferred)
• Submit resume, skills checklist (within 1 year), 2 supervisory references, and active certifications

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in patient assessments and consultations for adult and geriatric populations
• Experience with cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology procedures
• Comfort managing moderate sedation and monitoring recovery
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR documentation and workflow
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to perform daily rounds and effectively convey patient status to physicians and staff
• Competence in peri-procedural patient care, hemodynamic monitoring, and procedure-specific protocols
