Shift Type: Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM (day); 12+ hour day shifts with variable shift coverage as needed and holiday on-call rotation
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform MRI procedures using established and custom-built protocols to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Screen patients for contraindications and follow ACR and facility safety protocols to ensure everyone’s safety
- Interview and educate patients about MRI exams with compassion and clear communication
- Monitor patients visually and verbally throughout exams and respond promptly to any concerns
- Operate and maintain MRI equipment, report issues, and help coordinate routine maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and adhere to infection control and patient confidentiality standards
- Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and support staff to deliver coordinated, patient-focused care
- Help manage inventory and ensure supplies and accessories are available for smooth operations
Qualifications
- ARRT registration (required)
- BCLS certification (must be obtained within 4 months of hire and maintained thereafter)
- Must be influenza vaccinated as required by the State of Maine unless an approved medical exemption is provided
- Comfort working with geriatric, pediatric and general patient populations
- Ability to follow ACR safety protocols, perform patient screening, and educate patients clearly
Education
- Associate's degree or certificate from a two-year college, university, or certificate-based MRI program
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in MRI procedures and protocol development
- Strong patient care and patient screening skills with excellent bedside manner
- Familiarity with ACR safety standards and MRI contraindication screening
- Experience operating and maintaining MRI equipment and troubleshooting basic issues
- Effective verbal communication and ability to educate diverse patient populations
- Comfort working with geriatric and pediatric patients and adapting approach accordingly
