Shift Type: Weekend Nights (Fri-Sat) + one weekday, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts, Night (block schedule)

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care to adult patients across Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, MICU, CVICU, and related subspecialty units
- Float between units of equivalent or lower acuity and adapt quickly to changing patient needs
- Manage ventilated patients and perform ventilator management tasks with confidence
- Monitor telemetry and interpret 12-lead EKGs and dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
- Administer and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips, emergency medications, continuous sedation, and paralytics as indicated
- Assess neuro status, perform NIHSS assessments, and manage EVD and ICP monitoring when needed
- Perform IV therapy including starts, PICC/central line care, arterial line management, and blood product administration
- Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care and compliance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, PT, pharmacy, and rapid response to deliver coordinated care
- Support infection prevention, isolation precautions, and high standards of patient safety
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC required
- Demonstrated experience with IV start, telemetry, and ventilator management
- Travel nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Flexible and willing to float between ICU units as needed
- Orientation: 36 hours
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and care of mechanically ventilated patients
- Telemetry monitoring, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
- IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, PICC and central line care
- Arterial line management and ABG interpretation
- Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips and emergency medication administration
- Neurological monitoring including NIHSS, EVD, ICP monitoring, and stroke management
- Respiratory support skills including BiPAP, CPAP, and HFNC
- Wound care and wound VAC management
- Infection prevention and use of isolation precautions and PPE
- Comfortable charting in EPIC and working within interdisciplinary teams
