Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Support nursing staff by monitoring patient conditions and reporting changes promptly and accurately
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote patient comfort and prevent falls
- Document care and observations clearly and timely to maintain high-quality patient records
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for patients and families
- Engage with patients and families to provide emotional support and promote dignity
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — state certification required or eligible for Maine certification
- Demonstrated experience in long-term care or similar healthcare setting preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Clear background check, up-to-date immunizations, and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to work the evening shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) for the assignment duration
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in providing personal care and assisting with activities of daily living
- Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety protocols
- Basic charting and documentation skills; accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced care environment
