Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor and document vital signs, changes in condition, and care provided accurately and promptly
- Support safe mobility and positioning to promote comfort and prevent injury
- Assist nursing staff with clinical tasks and follow care plans with attention to detail
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and team members to ensure coordinated care
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Active, valid CNA credential recognized for work in Maine
- Comfortable working in long term care or similar healthcare settings
- Strong communication skills and a team-minded attitude
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Proficient in taking and recording vital signs and observing changes in condition
- Knowledge of infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Good documentation and charting habits
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents
