Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to swing-bed and acute inpatients, ensuring safety and dignity
• Administer IV therapy and medications per scope and policy with accuracy and attention
• Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and clinical changes promptly and clearly
• Collaborate closely with RNs, providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Respond effectively to emergent situations following ACLS/PALS protocols when required
• Educate patients and families about care plans, recovery expectations, and discharge preparation
• Support transitions of care for swing-bed patients to promote optimal recovery and discharge outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Alaska LPN license (required)
• Current IV certification (required)
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications (required)
• Comfortable and experienced with swing bed care and acute inpatient nursing
• Valid professional credentials and the ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• IV therapy and safe medication administration
• Assessment of acute and post-acute/swing-bed patients
• Basic life support and emergency response following ACLS/PALS guidance
• Strong communication with patients, families, and clinical teams
• Time management and prioritization on a busy inpatient floor
• Documentation accuracy and attention to detail
