Shift Type: Night-focused 12-hour shifts: 3x12 (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) — rotating day/night coverage possible based on unit needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adults and geriatrics on a MedSurg Oncology unit
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to telemetry alerts to keep patients safe
- Administer and manage IV therapy, blood products, and central/PICC/arterial line care with strict adherence to protocols
- Support chemotherapy-related care and symptom management in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal and manage high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias to guide timely clinical interventions
- Maintain impeccable documentation in Epic and communicate changes in patient status to the team
- Follow and promote infection prevention and patient falls prevention best practices every shift
- Float to equivalent MedSurg/Oncology units as needed while maintaining safe patient ratios
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Ohio (or compact license where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years RN experience required; must meet experience requirements within the 3 most recent years
- At least 1 year of current specialty experience required for a clinical pass (oncology experience preferred but not required)
- Epic charting experience required
- BCLS (BLS) certification required
- Comfortable with a 1:4 patient ratio and floating to units of equal or lower acuity
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- IV start, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and Alaris infusion pump proficiency
- Central line, PICC line and arterial line management
- Blood product administration
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP management
- Tracheostomy care and chest tube assistance
- ABG interpretation
- Familiarity with bladder scanner and GE B450 telemetry monitors
- Infection prevention practices and patient falls prevention strategies
