Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Assist residents with safe transfers and ambulation, keeping dignity and independence front and center
• Take and record basic vital signs accurately and promptly
• Follow care plans and communicate changes in condition to nursing staff
• Help create a calm, friendly environment that promotes resident comfort and quality of life
• Document care provided in a clear, timely manner to support continuity and safety
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• GNA certification required (Geriatric Nursing Assistant)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and assisting with physical tasks
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing helpful but not required

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certificate or state-recognized geriatric nursing assistant training

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic resident care and activities of daily living
• Familiarity with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Infection prevention practices and proper PPE use
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
• Ability to follow written care plans and communicate effectively with nursing staff
