Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (primarily nights): 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour nights per week; may rotate to day shifts per 4-week schedule based on department needs
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and manage post-chemotherapy body-fluid precautions with strict adherence to ONS standards
- Provide specialized nursing care for BMT and oncology patients, including autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplant recipients
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to quickly escalate care when needed
- Manage vascular access: central lines, PICCs, ports — including draws, dressing changes, and troubleshooting
- Administer and monitor blood products and IV infusions safely and accurately
- Use Epic for accurate, timely charting and to communicate abnormal lab values and clinical changes
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (PT, RT, pharmacy, social work) to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies, utilize Rapid Response Teams, and follow infection prevention protocols
- Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans (including CAR-T and stem cell therapies), and home care needs
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (state-appropriate) required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of hematology/oncology or MS/Telemetry experience within the last 3 years
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Comfortable with Epic charting system (charting in Epic required)
- Willingness to float to other med-surg oncology units as needed and to learn new skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Chemotherapy administration and safe handling of cytotoxic agents
- Bone marrow transplant care, CAR-T therapy awareness, and stem cell therapy concepts
- IV therapy, infusion pump management, and administration of blood products
- Central line/port/PICC care and troubleshooting
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Infection prevention, isolation precautions, and sepsis recognition
- Feeding tube care and basic respiratory support collaboration
- Strong clinical judgment, rapid-response activation, and interdisciplinary communication
