Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, feeding, and mobility assistance
- Monitor and report patient condition changes clearly and promptly to the nursing team
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and vital signs as directed
- Support residents’ daily living activities with dignity and respect
- Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team to achieve patient care goals
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and bedside care
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and able to pass facility background and health screenings
- Previous long-term care or acute care experience a plus, but enthusiasm and a caring attitude count too
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care principles and infection control
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with safe patient handling techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills and culturally sensitive care
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Basic charting and documentation skills
