Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality rehab care in a skilled nursing facility
• Implement treatment plans and therapeutic exercises to help residents regain mobility and independence
• Perform safe transfers, gait training, and assistive device education with compassion and patience
• Document patient progress accurately and communicate changes to the therapy team
• Collaborate with nurses, aides, and families to create cohesive, person-centered care plans
• Encourage and educate residents and caregivers to promote long-term functional gains

Qualifications

• Licensed or credentialed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) or eligible to obtain state credentials
• New grads are welcome — experience in SNF settings is a plus but not required
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to work day shifts in Sarasota and complete a 13-week travel/contract assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Practical knowledge of therapeutic exercise, transfer techniques and gait training
• Skilled in patient handling, safety, and fall prevention strategies
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and therapy progress notes
• Ability to adapt treatment to medically complex and geriatric populations
• Good time management, organization, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
