Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs and observe changes in condition
- Communicate resident status and care details clearly to nursing staff
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
- Document care accurately and in a timely manner in resident records
- Support resident dignity and independence while delivering high-quality care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet resident needs
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (eligible to practice in New Mexico preferred)
- CPR/BLS certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to per-diem scheduling
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
Education
- CNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care fundamentals and safe transfer techniques
- Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
- Basic wound care awareness and infection control practices
- Comfortable with charting and following care plans
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
