Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to assisted living residents, helping them maintain dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Observe and accurately report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team to support timely interventions
- Document care and resident interactions thoroughly and professionally in the facility records
- Support a safe, clean, and respectful living environment and follow infection control protocols
- Collaborate with fellow caregivers and licensed staff to deliver coordinated, person-centered care
- Engage residents with social interaction and meaningful activities to promote emotional well-being
Qualifications
- Active LNA / Licensed Nursing Assistant certification (VT/NH acceptable) — must be current and valid
- Experience working in assisted living or long-term care settings preferred
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and safe patient transfers; strong focus on resident dignity
- Ability to pass background checks, TB screening, and required workplace health checks
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player who communicates clearly with residents and staff
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved LNA/CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of ADLs and basic resident care techniques
- Good observational skills for noticing changes in resident condition
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and team members
- Basic documentation skills and familiarity with facility charting practices
- Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and resident rights
