Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for assigned adult-geriatric patients, ensuring safe, effective outcomes
• Provide patient and family teaching that empowers recovery and continuity of care
• Lead and collaborate with ancillary staff to maintain high standards of professional nursing practice
• Float to the Thompson Unit when needed and support custodial patients on Kingsbury with appropriate judgment
• Document thoroughly and use Epic EMR to communicate patient status and care plans
• Participate in unit-based problem solving and quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Active New Hampshire RN license required (Compact allowed) — license must be in-hand and uploaded with profile
• Minimum 2+ years Medical-Surgical RN experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required
• Traveler must have own vehicle and permanent address listed in profile
• Skills Checklist — Medical Surgical current to within 1 year (required)
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years (required)
• Be prepared to have all medical/occupational health compliance items ordered/collected/resulted within 5 days of offer acceptance

Education

• Active New Hampshire RN license (Compact allowed) — RN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Medical-Surgical nursing fundamentals and adult-geriatric care
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record
• Patient and family education techniques
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and ancillary staff
• Comfort floating between units and adapting to different acuity and ratios
• Leadership skills and professional decision-making at the bedside
