Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour nights per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; rotating day/night assignments possible depending on department needs (shift assignments reviewed each 4-week scheduling period); weekends variable based on unit needs

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and manage post-chemotherapy body fluid handling safely and competently
- Provide IV therapy care including starting IVs, PICC/central line management, and peripheral line care
- Administer and monitor blood and blood product transfusions with strict adherence to protocols
- Continuously monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond using Rapid Response Teams as needed
- Manage complex drips (insulin, heparin) and titrate per orders while monitoring patient response
- Implement infection prevention protocols and fall-prevention strategies to protect vulnerable patients
- Document thoroughly in Epic to ensure clear, accurate patient records and seamless team communication
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners (Pharmacy, PT, Respiratory, Social Work, Radiology) to coordinate patient-centered care
- Float to other Med/Surg and Oncology units as needed while maintaining high standards of care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and home-care expectations with compassion and clarity
Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing (state licensure required for practice)
- ONS certification required (ONS/ONCC) — this role requires demonstrated oncology certification
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of recent hematology/oncology specialty experience within the last 3 years
- Experience in MS/Telemetry, telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience with chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, and central line/PICC care
- Comfortable using Epic or similar electronic charting systems
- Willingness to learn, grow, and participate fully in the 72-hour orientation (first-week classroom + second-week on-unit with preceptor)
Education
- Current RN license (required)
- ADN or BSN; BSN preferred where available
Knowledge & Skills
- Oncology nursing principles (hematology/oncology) and oncologic emergency recognition
- Telemetry interpretation and continuous cardiac monitoring
- Chemotherapy administration and safe handling of cytotoxic agents
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood transfusion processes
- Central line/PICC access, care, and central line blood draws
- Infection prevention best practices and fall-prevention strategies
- Familiarity with rapid response activation and managing acute decompensation
- Experience with Epic charting and computerized documentation workflows
- Basic feeding tube care and management, and sepsis recognition/management
