Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Help with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and communicate with the care team
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive appropriate nutrition
- Follow infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Active listing on the Maine nurse aide registry or ability to register prior to start
- Comfortable working the 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM day shift
- Compassionate patient care mindset with strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings per facility policy
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, mobility support
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents
- Familiarity with documentation and reporting in a long-term care setting
- Infection control and safe patient handling practices
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
