Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care in a small, community ED, prioritizing patient safety
• Perform rapid assessments, triage, and stabilization of patients across all acuities
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the care team to coordinate care
• Document patient encounters and care plans accurately and efficiently in EPIC
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures according to protocols and scope of practice
• Educate patients and families with clear, compassionate communication
• Participate in department readiness for weekends, holidays, and surge situations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain a Hawaii RN license
• Strong EPIC experience required for timely, accurate documentation and order management
• Previous experience working in an Emergency Department or acute care setting
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or able to obtain
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, and adapt to a small ED environment
• Professional communication skills and ability to collaborate in a close-knit team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven competency in emergency triage and rapid assessment
• Skilled in trauma and acute care interventions
• Proficient with EPIC for charting, orders, and communication
• Strong clinical decision-making and prioritization under pressure
• Excellent documentation, time management, and patient education skills
• Team-oriented mindset and flexibility in a variable schedule
