Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents at the Sandia Ridge Center
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Monitor and record vital signs and clinical changes, escalating concerns promptly
- Document care thoroughly in the patient record to ensure continuity
- Collaborate with RNs, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to support resident goals
- Educate residents and families about care plans and daily needs
- Assist with safe transfers, wound care basics and infection prevention practices
- Support a positive, resident-centered environment through professional conduct
Qualifications
- Active LPN license in New Mexico or ability to obtain state licensure prior to start
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility policy
- Comfort and availability to work night shifts on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Prior experience in long-term care, rehabilitative or skilled nursing settings preferred
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
- LPN/LVN diploma or certificate required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medication administration and safe documentation skills
- Ability to perform and interpret routine vital signs and assessments
- Familiarity with infection control standards and wound care basics
- Proficient communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
- Comfort with electronic health record charting and care documentation
- Good time management, prioritization and critical thinking under pressure
- Resident-focused approach with respect for dignity and confidentiality
