Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer medications safely and accurately, including IV antibiotics, IV push meds, oral meds, insulin, SQ/IM injections, and topical treatments
• Perform wound care and manage wound VACs with attention to healing and infection prevention
• Support patient admissions and discharges to ensure smooth transitions of care
• Provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living to promote patient dignity and comfort
• Manage ventilator-related care in collaboration with respiratory therapists
• Perform trach suctioning and basic airway management to maintain airway patency
• Monitor intake/output and manage tube feeds and TPN-related tasks with precision
• Adhere to infection control and PPE protocols to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active RN license with ability to verify licensure
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Successful completion of VHC EKG exam and license/certificate verification
• Current immunizations and health requirements as listed (COVID-19 vaccine, TB testing or questionnaire, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, influenza) and a clear drug screen
• Fit test for respirators as required
• Clinical experience with medication administration, wound care, vent and trach care, and tube feed/TPN management
• Comfortable working with isolation precautions and appropriate PPE use

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration (IV, oral, SQ/IM, IV push) and IV antibiotic management
• Wound assessment, dressing changes, and wound VAC management
• Ventilator-associated care and collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Trach suctioning and basic airway management techniques
• Intake/output monitoring and enteral/parenteral nutrition management (tube feeds, TPN)
• Infection control practices and proper PPE use
• Patient admissions, discharges, and documentation best practices
• Ability to follow facility protocols and participate in required testing and screenings
