Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living to preserve dignity
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Document patient information clearly and timely in the electronic chart to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in good standing (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Current immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
- Willingness to consent to background and drug screening as required by facility
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, patient-first mindset
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) credential required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in activities of daily living support and safe patient handling
- Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs and basic clinical observations
- Knowledgeable about infection prevention and standard safety procedures
- Comfortable with electronic documentation and basic charting
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and care teams
- Able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care environment
