Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Assist residents with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and lifting techniques
- Take and record vital signs, weight, and other routine observations accurately
- Support dining and feeding assistance while promoting resident dignity and independence
- Document resident care and changes in condition clearly and promptly
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, families, and interdisciplinary team to support excellent resident outcomes
- Follow infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required) — state registration or licensure as applicable
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or obtained upon hire)
- Comfortable with 12+ hour day shift and able to perform physical aspects of the role
- Passion for resident-centered care, strong communication skills, and a reliable attendance record
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding, background checks, and health screenings
Education
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and ADL assistance
- Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, weight, simple observations
- Strong documentation and charting habits
- Infection prevention and safe handling techniques
- Teamwork, empathy, and clear communication with residents and staff
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
