Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret screening and diagnostic mammography and breast ultrasound studies with accuracy and compassion
- Perform stereotactic biopsies, ultrasound-guided biopsies, and breast localization procedures safely and efficiently
- Document findings and procedural notes in Epic and PowerScribe and manage images in PACS
- Collaborate closely with breast surgeons, oncologists, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated patient care
- Communicate results and procedure plans clearly and compassionately to patients and families
- Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and efforts to continuously improve breast imaging services
Qualifications
- MD or DO with completion of a Diagnostic Radiology residency
- Fellowship training in Breast Imaging or equivalent focused experience preferred
- Board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
- Active Massachusetts medical license or ability to obtain licensure (credentialing estimated at 90–120 days)
- Proven experience with stereotactic biopsies, ultrasound-guided biopsies, breast localization procedures, mammography and breast ultrasound
- Proficiency with Epic, PowerScribe, and PACS documentation/workflow
Education
- MD or DO; Diagnostic Radiology residency required, Breast Imaging fellowship preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in mammography and breast imaging modalities
- Hands-on skill with stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies and localization techniques
- Comfortable using Epic for documentation and PowerScribe for reporting
- Fluent PACS navigation and image interpretation workflow
- Strong patient communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
- Attention to quality assurance and evidence-based imaging protocols
