Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered speech, language, and swallowing evaluations and therapy
- Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Document progress and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff
- Educate patients and caregivers with practical strategies to support progress
- Participate in discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions of care
Qualifications
- Current state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (required)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working with diverse patient populations across the lifespan
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and organizational skills
- Active professional liability insurance or willingness to obtain if required
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent (required)
- ASHA-accredited program completion preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assessment and treatment of articulation, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing disorders
- Familiarity with evidence-based therapy techniques and outcome measures
- Proficient documentation and electronic medical record usage
- Ability to adapt therapy to individual needs and cultural backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and patient education
