Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor residents’ conditions and accurately document vital signs and changes in status
- Support safe transfers and positioning to prevent falls and ensure comfort
- Communicate clearly with nurses and the care team to coordinate resident care plans
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and facility protocols
- Assist with feeding, toileting, and maintaining dignity and independence for residents
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Active/state-appropriate CNA credentials for New Mexico or ability to obtain prior to start
- Comfort working overnight shifts and weekend schedules
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; dependable and resident-focused
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADLs (activities of daily living) assistance and basic patient care
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Good documentation and charting practices
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Time management to balance multiple resident needs during a shift
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
