Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient physiological, psychosocial and cognitive status and prioritize care
• Implement individualized nursing care plans using the nursing process
• Direct and oversee patient care through delegation, supervision and evaluation
• Serve as a clinical resource and potentially as Charge Nurse to coordinate patient flow
• Document care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record
• Provide clear patient and family education to support recovery and safety
• Practice infection control, safety protocols and emergency/crisis management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth admissions, discharges and transfers
• Demonstrate leadership by supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Current Washington State RN licensure required
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification (AHA or equivalent) within 30 days of hire
• Acute care/ED nursing experience preferred; minimum one year RN experience preferred for specialty departments
• Demonstrated competency with department equipment and emergency procedures
• Strong critical thinking, communication and crisis management skills
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the role (standing/walking for long periods, safe patient handling)

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (RN)
