Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patient physiological, psychosocial and cognitive status and prioritize care
- Implement individualized nursing care plans using the nursing process
- Direct and oversee patient care through delegation, supervision and evaluation
- Serve as a clinical resource and potentially as Charge Nurse to coordinate patient flow
- Document care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record
- Provide clear patient and family education to support recovery and safety
- Practice infection control, safety protocols and emergency/crisis management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth admissions, discharges and transfers
- Demonstrate leadership by supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive unit culture
Qualifications
- Current Washington State RN licensure required
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification (AHA or equivalent) within 30 days of hire
- Acute care/ED nursing experience preferred; minimum one year RN experience preferred for specialty departments
- Demonstrated competency with department equipment and emergency procedures
- Strong critical thinking, communication and crisis management skills
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the role (standing/walking for long periods, safe patient handling)

- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (RN)
