Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents and patients during the night shift
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document all care in the chart
• Monitor patient conditions, report changes promptly, and collaborate with the care team
• Perform admissions, discharges, and transfers with attention to detail and safety
• Support resident comfort, safety, and dignity through respectful communication
• Participate in shift handoffs and interdisciplinary rounds to ensure continuity of care
• Assist with emergency response and implement facility policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing (Vermont license preferred)
• Clinical experience in long-term care, rehab, or acute settings is a plus
• Reliable transportation required (local assignment)
• Ability to work nights and every other weekend as required
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff

Education

• Completion of an accredited LPN/Vocational Nursing program and current LPN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Basic assessment skills and recognizing changes in patient condition
• Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
• Comfortable with electronic health record charting and shift documentation
• Teamwork, time management, and prioritization during busy night shifts
