Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting residents with activities of daily living to preserve dignity and comfort.
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient conditions accurately, communicating changes promptly to the nursing team.
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment to protect patients and yourself.
• Support mealtime, hygiene, and personal care needs with respect and patience.
• Document care and observations clearly in the patient record to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to implement care plans and improve resident outcomes.
• Participate in facility trainings and follow infection control and safety protocols at all times.

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification is preferred or must be obtained upon hire.
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings.
• Comfort with night-shift schedules and providing compassionate care during overnight hours.
• Local candidates only — must be able to commute reliably to Belen Meadows Center (Genesis - West Region).

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and active CNA certification.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and the care team.
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, feeding assistance, toileting, and mobility support.
• Knowledge of infection control, patient safety, and proper documentation.
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced care environment.
• Teamwork mindset and willingness to learn and follow care plans.
