Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to adult ICU patients during night shifts
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic status and EKGs, responding promptly to changes
• Administer medications, manage ventilators and advanced therapies per protocol
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and adjust care plans
• Float to Med-Surg as required, bringing ICU expertise to varied patient populations
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in unit quality initiatives and support a culture of safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required — Idaho licensure expected for this assignment)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience (night shift experience preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Successful completion of required VHC EKG exam and license/certificate verification
• Ability to meet employer health requirements (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB testing, Fit Test, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, drug screen)
• Comfort and competence floating to Med-Surg units as needed

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — RN required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment skills and familiarity with ICU protocols
• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Medication administration and titration in critical care settings
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills during high-acuity nights
• Adaptability to float between ICU and Med-Surg while maintaining quality care
