Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to residents following care plans
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Monitor resident condition, report changes, and escalate concerns promptly
- Document assessments, interventions, and resident responses in the chart
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident wellbeing
- Advocate for residents and engage families with clear, respectful communication
Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing — New Mexico licensure required or compact eligibility
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Recent clinical experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
- Proof of required immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Local candidates only (this is a local assignment)
Education
- Completed LPN program (diploma or certificate) and active LPN license
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of nursing fundamentals and medication administration
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation practices
- Skilled in resident assessment, wound care basics, and ADL assistance
- Good time management, prioritization, and multitasking during 12+ hour shifts
- Teamwork mindset and clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
- Basic knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Ability to follow facility protocols and adapt to resident-centered care plans
