Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to assigned patients
• Assess patient condition, monitor vital signs, and report changes promptly
• Perform and assist with EKGs and other routine cardiac monitoring as needed
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to orders and protocols
• Document care accurately and maintain regulatory and charting compliance
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate effective patient care
• Participate in required screenings, testing, and credential verification processes

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (Texas or eligible for Texas practice)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Completion of VHC EKG Exam and successful license/certificate verification
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings (COVID-19 vaccine, TB, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza)
• Ability to pass drug screen and fit test
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a patient-first attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with EKG basics and rhythm recognition
• Solid patient assessment and triage skills
• Medication administration and safe IV/infusion practices
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting proficiency
• Effective teamwork, patient education, and communication skills
• Infection prevention and control knowledge
• Adaptability to variable assignments and fast-paced clinical environments
