Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients while following facility policies and protocols
- Perform and interpret EKGs and assist in cardiac monitoring and care
- Apply BLS and ACLS protocols during emergent situations to support patient stability
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, documenting in the medical record
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions in a clear, respectful manner
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete required competency validations and examinations
- Adhere to infection control practices, safety standards, and required health screenings
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nursing credential (Registered Nursing) as reflected in required documentation
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Successful completion of VHC EKG Exam (as listed in checklist)
- License/certificate verification required prior to start
- Completion of required health screenings and immunizations: COVID-19 vaccine, TB testing/questionnaire, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, influenza, fit test, drug screen, and health statement
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfort with cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation
- Strong clinical assessment and patient triage skills
- Familiarity with ACLS and BLS protocols and emergency response
- Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
- Accurate documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Teamwork mindset and ability to collaborate across disciplines
- Attention to detail with certifications, screenings, and compliance items
