Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients while following facility policies and protocols
• Perform and interpret EKGs and assist in cardiac monitoring and care
• Apply BLS and ACLS protocols during emergent situations to support patient stability
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, documenting in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions in a clear, respectful manner
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete required competency validations and examinations
• Adhere to infection control practices, safety standards, and required health screenings

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nursing credential (Registered Nursing) as reflected in required documentation
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Successful completion of VHC EKG Exam (as listed in checklist)
• License/certificate verification required prior to start
• Completion of required health screenings and immunizations: COVID-19 vaccine, TB testing/questionnaire, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, influenza, fit test, drug screen, and health statement
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Strong clinical assessment and patient triage skills
• Familiarity with ACLS and BLS protocols and emergency response
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
• Accurate documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Teamwork mindset and ability to collaborate across disciplines
• Attention to detail with certifications, screenings, and compliance items
