Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful bedside care and assist patients with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain clean, comfortable patient environments and follow infection control practices
• Document care, observations, and patient responses clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated patient care
• Engage patients and families with empathy, clear communication, and dignity-preserving care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Active/valid state certification or eligibility to obtain CNA certification in New Mexico
• Basic patient care experience, comfortable with ADLs and vital signs monitoring
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass facility background checks and required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient-centered care skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Competence with vital signs, documenting observations, and reporting concerns
• Knowledge of infection control, safety procedures, and proper use of PPE
• Good communication skills for working with patients, families, and the care team
• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks during a busy night shift
• Teamwork mindset and flexibility to support changing patient needs
