Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with mobility, transfers and safe positioning to reduce fall risk
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care and observations
- Support mealtime assistance and monitor intake as directed
- Follow infection control protocols and contribute to a safe environment
- Communicate effectively with residents, families and the interdisciplinary team to promote resident-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a positive, resident-focused attitude
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role (assistance with transfers, standing, walking)
Education
- High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in basic nursing care and activities of daily living
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Familiarity with basic charting and electronic health record entries
- Strong observational skills and the ability to escalate concerns appropriately
- Time management and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
