Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults in the assigned unit
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to facility policy
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings to the care team
• Document care clearly and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
• Respond promptly to patient needs and urgent clinical changes during the overnight shift
• Support discharge planning and patient education to promote smooth transitions

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license or RN license in good standing (eligible to practice in New Mexico)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications encouraged
• Clinical experience in acute care or related settings preferred
• Strong assessment, medication administration and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts and collaborate with the care team

Education

• For LPN: Practical Nursing diploma or certificate (state-approved program)
• For RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation
• Infection control, safety protocols and basic clinical procedures
• Clear communication, teamwork and time management during fast-paced shifts
• Comfort with caring for diverse patient populations
