Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound/sonography exams with accuracy, professionalism, and compassion
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring excellent image quality and proper documentation
- Chart exam findings and patient information in Cerner promptly and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the allied health team to support acute care patients
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and acute care protocols at all times
- Participate in orientation and ongoing education to maintain certifications and best practices
Qualifications
- RDCS certification (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of ultrasound/sonography experience (acute care experience preferred)
- Familiarity with Cerner or similar charting systems
- Willingness to complete the 12-hour orientation period
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in diagnostic ultrasound and sonographic technique
- Ability to acquire high-quality images and assist with interpretation
- Comfortable working in an acute care/hospital setting
- Proficient charting and documentation skills (Cerner experience a plus)
- Excellent patient communication and bedside manner
