Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care following facility policies and standards
- Perform thorough assessments and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in the medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective care
- Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge instructions, and disease management
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns when needed
- Support unit operations during shift changes and contribute to a positive clinical environment
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing (RN preferred)
- Active/state licensure for New Mexico or ability to obtain prior to start
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — obtain or current is preferred
- Previous acute care or long-term care experience preferred; travel experience a plus
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
- Professional, reliable, and team-oriented with excellent communication skills
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) or accredited LPN program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Medication administration and IV management
- Electronic medical record charting and documentation
- Infection control and safety best practices
- Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
- Clear communication with patients, families, and care teams
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Adaptability to new environments and rapid onboarding as a travel clinician
