Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans that make a measurable difference
• Provide skilled therapy to patients across the lifespan with clarity and compassion
• Document care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, therapists, and family members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and caregivers to support carryover and meaningful progress
• Maintain professional licensure, certifications, and compliance with facility policies

Qualifications

• Valid state SLP license (license verification required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Current immunizations and health screenings as listed: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, annual influenza, TB test or annual TB questionnaire, fit testing where applicable
• Successful completion of required pre-placement checks: drug screen, health statement, and VHC color vision
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills in speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
• Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in speech-language and swallowing assessment and intervention
• Experience with patient-centered care and family education
• Familiarity with documentation in electronic medical records
• Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
• Skilled at adapting therapy to varied clinical populations and settings
• Strong organizational skills and attention to clinical detail
