Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based tools
- Develop individualized treatment plans that make a measurable difference
- Provide skilled therapy to patients across the lifespan with clarity and compassion
- Document care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, therapists, and family members to coordinate care
- Educate patients and caregivers to support carryover and meaningful progress
- Maintain professional licensure, certifications, and compliance with facility policies
Qualifications
- Valid state SLP license (license verification required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Current immunizations and health screenings as listed: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, annual influenza, TB test or annual TB questionnaire, fit testing where applicable
- Successful completion of required pre-placement checks: drug screen, health statement, and VHC color vision
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills in speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
- Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in speech-language and swallowing assessment and intervention
- Experience with patient-centered care and family education
- Familiarity with documentation in electronic medical records
- Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
- Skilled at adapting therapy to varied clinical populations and settings
- Strong organizational skills and attention to clinical detail
