Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in the Orono Commons area
- Assess patient condition, monitor vitals, and respond to changes with sound clinical judgment
- Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and update individualized care plans
- Document patient care clearly and accurately in the electronic medical record
- Communicate effectively with patients and families to educate and support them through care
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Maine (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications encouraged
- Comfortable working night shifts and managing acuity in an acute/long-term care setting
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
- Proficient clinical documentation and EMR usage
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
