Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor adult (and occasional pediatric) patients to ensure safe, evidence-based care
• Coordinate patient care across inpatient, outpatient, observation, and swing bed settings
• Implement the Nursing Process to make timely clinical decisions and document care accurately
• Collaborate with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, nursing supervisors, and interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
• Provide patient- and family-centered education and emotional support during hospitalization and transitions
• Respond promptly to clinical changes and participate in emergency interventions as needed
• Support unit operations by mentoring colleagues, promoting teamwork, and contributing to quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current Vermont RN license or a multi-state RN license (required prior to start)
• Minimum 3 years acute care nursing experience (Med/Surg experience strongly preferred)
• BLS (American Heart Association) required prior to start
• ACLS required prior to start
• Familiarity with Meditech is preferred
• Ability to care for adult patients primarily; comfortable with occasional pediatric patients (this is not a pediatric-only floor)
• All required credentials uploaded five business days before your start date

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making using the Nursing Process
• Care coordination across inpatient, outpatient, observation, and swing bed settings
• Medical-surgical nursing expertise and acute care best practices
• Experience with electronic medical records (Meditech preferred)
• Collaborative teamwork, clear communication, and a patient-centered approach
• Basic pediatric care knowledge for occasional pediatric patients
