Shift Type: Rotating nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night); weekdays and some weekends (every other weekend); rotating holidays

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to progressive care and post-cardiac surgery patients
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and promptly manage dysrhythmias and alarms
- Start and maintain IVs, manage central/PICC and arterial lines, and administer blood products safely
- Care for patients with chest tubes, wound vacs, feeding tubes and other specialized devices
- Collaborate daily with physicians, respiratory therapists, PT/OT and pharmacy for coordinated care
- Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Respond to rapid response and emergency situations with calm, evidence-based practice
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed and support the team during busy periods
- Participate in orientation and mentor newer staff as part of ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- 2 years of PCU/Telemetry nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Demonstrated IV start skills and comfort with cardiac monitoring/telemetry
- EPIC charting experience required
- Travel nursing experience required (this is a travel/contract role)
- Ability to work nights, rotating holidays, and every-other weekend
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Active, unrestricted RN license (state licensure required for travel assignment)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Peripheral and central IV therapy, PICC care, arterial line management and blood product administration
- Post-operative cardiac care: CABG, valve procedures, TAVR, sheaths, TR Band and related care
- Management of chest tubes, wound vacs, feeding tubes, and surgical drains
- Respiratory support skills: HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen administration, tracheostomy care
- Familiarity with heparin protocols, PCA management and basic titration protocols
- Strong documentation skills in EPIC and effective interdisciplinary communication
- Rapid assessment and emergency response skills on a progressive care/telemetry unit
