Shift Type: Rotating shifts including every-other weekend, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour night shift)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients on telemetry/stepdown using bedside monitors and clinical judgement
- Provide focused, high-quality nursing care for a stepdown observation unit with a typical 4:1 patient ratio
- Administer medications, treatments and interventions safely and accurately
- Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to maintain continuity of care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members — physicians, CNAs and support staff — to coordinate patient care
- Respond to acute events using BLS/ACLS protocols and escalate appropriately
- Provide patient and family education to support recovery and safe discharge planning
- Float to other tele and medical units as needed while maintaining professional standards
Qualifications
- Alaska RN license at time of submission (no temporary licenses accepted)
- Minimum 1 year telemetry experience and 1 year stepdown experience (this is a stepdown observation unit)
- Minimum 2 years total RN experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Comfortable and experienced with EPIC or similar EMR systems
- Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic; ability to work collaboratively on a busy unit
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Stepdown/observation unit workflows and patient management
- Bedside monitor use and troubleshooting
- Proficient documentation in EPIC
- Ability to manage a 4:1 patient ratio effectively
- ACLS/BLS emergency response and rapid assessment skills
- Good interpersonal skills for patient/family education and team collaboration
